Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Hand-to-Hand and Heart-to-Heart

Since our founding in 1872, Alpha Phi has been an organization where women come together to support one another. When we fail to support each other, we fail to fulfill our promise to our sisters. Alpha Phi stands firmly against bigotry, hate, and all forms of discrimination. We are committed to addressing the need for awareness, action, and engagement surrounding the United States' history of institutional racism, homophobia, and disproportionate police violence. We recognize that these issues have affected our members and negatively impacted the culture of Greek life organizations.

The history of Alpha Phi is a tapestry of our members’ stories, and we must acknowledge that some of these stories have not always reflected the high ideals of our organization. As a chapter, we strive to overcome these obstacles through education, service, and honest conversations, benefiting our chapter members, fellow Panhellenic sisters, and the broader campus community.

Alpha Phi will not stand silently by as our communities and the world are impacted by violence and injustice. If we cease to support each other in the pursuit of justice, equality, kindness, safety, and truth, we fail to uphold the values that Alpha Phi and so many others hold dear.
