Philanthropy
Alpha Phi Foundation is the proud philanthropic partner of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, with a mission of “advancing women’s lives through the power of philanthropy.” Alpha Phi officially adopted Women’s Heart Health as a priority in 1946, which became the Foundation’s philanthropic priority upon its founding in 1956. Today, the Foundation proudly invests in leadership, scholarship, and emergency aid for its members, as well as programs and research that study heart disease in women – precisely its symptoms, treatment, and prevention through its annual Heart to Heart Grant.
The Alpha Phi Foundation
Why Do we Support Women's Heart Health?
Alpha Phi’s national philanthropy is women’s heart health. As the leading cause of death for women in the US, cardiovascular disease affects so many lives. In fact, it causes one in every five female deaths. To combat this devastating disease, the Alpha Phi Foundation funds research and educational programs that support the advancement of women’s heart health through the Heart to Heart Grant. Since its inception, the grant has funded over 30 cutting-edge projects focused on the improvement of women’s cardiovascular care.
Letter from the Director of Philanthropy
Hello,
I am Sydney Wright, the Director of Philanthropy for Alpha Phi Delta Delta for the 2023-2024 term. As Alpha Phis, we support Women's Heart Health and raise money for its awareness and research to help further medical knowledge in cardiology. One in three women are affected by heart disease each year, and heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the United States. The Alpha Phi Foundation strives to make a lasting impact on funding for further research and education.
